South Jakarta Vice Mayor, Isnawa Adji expects waste bank is not only reducing number of waste transported to Integrated Waste Management Site (PTSP), but also educating children to care about the environment especially from early age.
"Waste bank implementation in schools are expected to be an effective solution that can reduce waste directly from its source. We want to teach our children to sort waste properly and encourage them to save money that they earn from sorting waste," he explained, Wednesday (9/11).
West Jakarta Intensifies Waste Reduction Program in SchoolsMeanwhile, Jakarta Pramuka Kwarda Secretary, Triadi Suparta stated, students who are routinely sorting waste will also get special score.
"This form of appreciation motivates students to bring more garbage with economic value to school," he stated.
BNI Consumer and Product Management Division Manager, Sri Wahyuni explained, his side will facilitate students to create bank account since money earned from sorting waste will be transferred to student's BNI account.
"Money earned from collecting waste will be accumulated every month. We will socialize this information as soon as possible to every school," she mentioned.
